Born July 5th 1810 in Bethel, Connecticut. He moved to New York City in 1834 and at age 25 found his calling in the world of exhibitions. P.T. Barnum became the Greatest Show Man in the world. His ideas, his creativity, and his expert manipulation of the press made him a household name. Best known for the Oddities which he presented and his legacy of the Ringling Bros., Barnum and Bailey Circus all of which brought joy and laughter to millions worldwide. A serious study of his methods of publicity are a must for anyone wishing to be a success in the entertainment business. Oddly enough, many of his methods are still being used today. P.T.
