Here is a trick which should prove to be a good
Solid After Dinner or Hospitality Suite
Closeup Routine for You. Your audience will
go away talking to themselves...

EFFECT:
The magician displays Three Picture Cards.
One has a Picture of a Coin, Another has a Picture
of a Dog and the Last One has a Picture of a
Football. The magician also places an envelope
on the table.  A spectator freely selects one of the
three cards. The magician even offers the
spectator the opportunity to change his/her
mind and select a different Picture Card.
Upon selection, the magician reveals the
prediction envelope and the Prediction
matches the selected card perfectly.

SET-UP:
Take 3 notecards and draw or paste
pictures of the three items one to a card.
Use the coin, the dog and the football or
make up your own three symbols.
 
Then take two envelopes and one
notecard. Upon one of the envelope
faces, write:
 
I, the Great (your name here),
predict that on this date, You
will select the COIN.
 
on the second envelope face... Write:
 
I, the Great (your name here,
predict that on this date, You
will select the DOG.
 
on the notecard... Write:
  
I, the Great (your name here,
predict that on this date, You
will select the Football.
 
Insert the Notecard into the DOG
envelope, and fold the Dog envelope and
place it inside the COIN envelope.
 
Place the Prediction Envelope in your right
pocket and the 3 Picture Cards into the
left pocket.
 
You are now ready to perform a Miracle.

Speak about the power of the mind to
transmit thoughts over a distance and to be
received or read by a trained mind.
Propose an experiment in reverse.
You will attempt to influence the
spectator's selection by MIND POWER
alone.

That's the Build-Up.

PERFORMANCE:
 
Have a spectator select a picture card.
Ask them if they would like to change their
mind. Make sure they understand it is a free
choice.
 
Talk about each card and the symbol it
represents. As the card is selected ask the
person to concentrate upon the cards and
to go with their impression as you attempt to
influence their choice silently with nothing
but your mind and your knowledge of the
envelope before them.
 
No matter which card is selected, You are
prepared to dazzle your audience.
 
If they select the Coin Picture Card,
simply turn over the envelope.
 
If they select the Dog Picture card,
then carefully open the envelope
in such a way as to NOT reveal
the front of the envelope and remove
the envelope inside. Put the outer
envelope away in the process and then
reveal the front of the Innner Envelope.
If they select the Football Picture Card,
then carefully open the Outer and Inner
envelopes, put them away and reveal the
Innermost Notecard.

Take your bow. You deserve it!
