This
Month is Special, The Holidays have a Magic all their own.
With
that in mind I hereby give to you one of the effects that
I
have used for many years as a Reputation Maker.
It
will work for you too! It is particularly useful for Television
Interviews,
or in any situation where you absolutely, positively
must
create a sensation and knock your spectator's socks off.
One
Note: This Trick is so powerful that you should make sure
that
there are witnesses because when the spectator begins to
tell
their friends what happened... No one will believe them!
Childen
should not attempt the preparations involved in this effect
without
adult supervision.

will
Love This
Very Mysterious Illusion.
EFFECT:
A spectator
is asked to examine a real hard boiled egg.
The spectator
places the egg in full view of the audience.
The Spectator
now freely selects ANY CARD,
The card is
burned or vanished in your own favorite way.
The egg is
peeled and inside the egg, written on the white of the egg,
is the NAME
OF THE SELECTED CARD!
What a Trick!

SET-UP:
You will need
a Regular Deck of Cards.
A special
prepared egg.
You are now
ready to perform a very
Mysterious
Miracle.
______________________________________
You will need
a fresh egg, one half ounce (15g) of alum
(potassium
alum). One half Pint (300 ml) of Vinegar and
a wooden coffee
stick.
To prepare
the egg for this effect, dissolve
alum ( potassium
alum) in the vinegar.
Use this alum
solution and dip the coffee stick into it.
Then write
with the coffee stick the name of a card
you will force
upon the spectator. The solution will go on clear.
Do not allow
the solution to run. When the writing is dry
and invisible,
Boil the egg, until it hard boiled. 12-15min.

please)
Allow the
egg to cool and it is ready to use.
I usually
make up a dozen of these at a time if I am going to
be perfroming
the effect on a regular basis for several shows
in a row.
I usually make 4 of each of three force cards in case
someone might
see two shows I can change the card to be
forced.
It
is assumed that the magician can force a card. If you do not know
how
to force a card, there is plenty of material available to teach you
a
simple technique. Complete information on how to force a card is
beyond
the scope of this particular effect.

PERFORMANCE:
Explain that
you would like to try something new.
An experiment
if you will.
Something
you have never attempted before.
Give the EGG to a Spectator.
Have the spectator examine the Egg and
place it in full view
of the rest of the audience.
Take a deck of cards. Your force card is
in position.
Have the spectator select your force card.
Have the card shown around to everyone
but you.
Put the deck away...
Vanish the card in your favorite manner.
I usually burn the card unless the facility
has a reason
for not using fire. Such as smoke detectors.
Some folks use other methods, but the important
thing
is to get rid of the card.
Now... have a different spectator begin
to carefully
peel the egg. When they get the shell off,
they will plainly see
the name of the card written on the boiled
white... INSIDE THE EGG!
You will probably see this on the next
David Blaine Special.
What a GREAT ILLUSION!
