PERFORMANCE:
Have a spectator
select a card. Cut that card to the top.
Have the spectator
take the card while you turn your
back. Tell
the spectator to press his or her thumb print
firmly onto
the corners of the card. While they are busy doing
this, you
take a moment to glance at the bottom card of
the deck.
This is your KEY CARD!
When the spectator
has indicated that they are finished,
turn around,
place the deck face down on the table, and
ask the spectator
to place their selected card on top of the
deck and lose
the card by cutting it into the deck.
Now take out
the Magnifying Glass. Ask the Spirit of
Sherlock Holmes
to enter the glass.
Turn the deck
Face Up.
Spread the
deck across the table.
Pick up the
glass and begin to examine each card.
It should
be obvious to you now that the spectator's
selected card
will be on top of the KEY CARD!
Make a big
deal about the finger prints being smudged.
Dirty Hands,
Too Much Oil in the skin etc.
Finally after
much by-play reveal the selected card,
and take your
bow. You deserve it!
