Here is a trick which should prove to be a good
Solid After Dinner or Hospitality Suite
Closeup Routine for You. Your audience will
Love This Novel Effect.

EFFECT:
Three CDs are shown and one selected.
The Name of the CD is written by the spectator on a small piece of paper.

The paper is burned and the ashes rubbed on the forearm
of another spectator and the Name of the Selected CD Appears
as if by Ghostly Writers on the spectators forearm.

SET-UP:

You will need Three Cds.

A Small Bar of Hotel/Motel Soap.

You are now ready to perform a Miracle.

______________________________________

Have a Buddy or someone willing to go along with you
allow you to write with the wet bar of soap on their forearm
the Name of the CD which the audience member will select
when you do the trick. Tell the spectator not to rub the soap off their
arm. Let the Soap Dry.

That's the Build-Up.

PERFORMANCE:

Lay Out Three CDs with the one you wrote on the
helpers arm on your left.

Have your helper in the audience.

Have another spectator select one of the CDs by
Count...

Ask the Spectator to name a Number
1   -   2    or    3

No Matter What they say... count to the one you wrote on the
helpers arm...

If they say one...
Count right to left as you spell
O-N-E

If They say TWO,
Count right to left as you spell
T-W-O

If they say Three... simply
Count
1 - 2 - 3

No matter the number they select you 
end up on the leftmost cd which is the one you secretly wrote on
your helpers forearm.
Have the spectator write the name of the cd on the small piece of paper.
 
Take the piece of paper and burn it in an ashtray.
Let the ashes cool as you bring up the subject of ghostly writing and
pretend to select your helper as if by random choice.
Pull up his/her sleeve and rub a bit of the ashes over the dried soap
on the forearm. The Name of the selected CD will Magically Appear.
