TOP SECRET FUNDRAISER REPORT PTA - PTO - NPO FUNDRAISERS
|
|
Each year it becomes harder and harder to send the kids or members out into the streets selling the same old Candy Bars, Magazine Subscriptions, Cookie Dough, Pizzas, Onions and other assorted Gift Items etc. If you were really honest, you would make note of all the extra money that is donated to your cause that you never see... What am I talking about? Listen Up... I'm going to let you in on a Secret that the Fundraising Companies DO NOT want you to know. As amazing as this revelation is... Thousands upon Thousands of Groups and Organizations across America buy into the deception and never realize what happened. To make matters worse... The Fundraising Companies HIDE this information from you deliberately depriving your group and worst of all the children of their just and fair share of the profits. How is this possible? These companies wouldn't do anything illegal would they? They wouldn't just up and steal the pennies from a child's hands... Would they? Why Would they Do Something so Horrible? I have spent 2 years studying this industry and many surprising pieces of information have come to light in that time. Secret #1 Incredible as it may seem the following is F-A-C-T! These fundraising companies that I am talking about right now are the ones that are in the business of having your group hit the streets and sell MERCHANDISE. It does not matter whether it is a Magazine Subscription, a Tub of Cookie Dough, Candles, Entertainment Coupon Books, Pizzas or other gift Items. They are all one in the same. Merchandise. If it is a Food Item or Perishable, you must refrigerate it or freeze it and pay for the storage bill out of your end of the profits. Some of these companies buy Closeout Merchandise by the Box Car Load, Some buy in bulk and repackage the product, others like the coupon book folks sell to both ends. The bottom line is simply that they
are getting the merchandise DIRT CHEAP, BELOW NORMAL WHOLESALE PRICES...
Sometimes as low as 1 Cent on the dollar! Then they mark it up as
high as
This closeout Merchandise is usually stuff nobody wanted the first time around and why would we want it the second time around either especially at 3 to 5 times the price we could have bought it for when they were trying to sell the stuff in Wal-Mart???? No, it's not Illegal, however it is
unethical.
SECRET #2 Now they have to move a warehouse full of junk that nobody really wants and they have the price marked up to unrealistic retail prices. Does that deter them? NO! Then they come to YOU. Good people, who are just trying to make a few dollars to further their organizations projects and good works. They TELL You that they will give you a commission of up to 30% if your group will sell their overpriced junk for them. What they don't tell you is that YOU will have to maintain accurate records, make sure the money is right, since they supply the merchandise on consignment. They also expect that your group will not only hit the streets and offices selling the stuff nobody wants in YOUR GOOD NAME and then wait a couple of weeks while they deliver the junk and again expect you to keep accurate delivery records, sort and break down the merchandise, store and or refrigerate or even freeze the stuff and then revisit all those who bought junk they did not want because of YOUR GOOD NAME, just to deliver the stuff while expecting You to Use YOUR PRIVATE VEHICLES WITH YOUR GAS and Your LABOR! If you actually added the cost of the Vehicles, Gas, Storage and Extra Labor involved, Your Group would find out that they are only making about 10% of the total sales income. The Fundraising Company could never move that merchandise and get it sold any other way because it is Cost Prohibitive! SECRET #3 There are Fundraising Companies that have you sell magazine subscriptions and Entertainment Coupon Books. These are a little different than the merchandise pushers, but the result is the same. They still tell you that you will make about 30% but again, you have to do the bookkeeping and get out there and sell a lot of Magazines or Coupon Books to hit your mark. Some use a sliding scale to determine your cut of the action. Most organizations don't get to the 30% level and accept a somewhat lesser percentage. Oh yes... they promise cool gifts to the kids that sell the most... Ha! If the child sells several hundred dollars worth of intangibles they might win a tin whistle or a miniature 4" tall teddy bear... Whoopee! That gets those kids going doesn't it! What a deal! Here's the real kick in the pants with these types of companies... They GET PAID BY THE MAGAZINES THEMSELVES
The Fundraising Company gets to keep MOST of the Money YOU RAISED as well as the money the Magazine Publishers pay them, because the Magazines are banking on RENEWALS and AD Sales to make their money, not the initial subscription. Where I come from, we call that BAIT! The Coupon Book Companies ALSO Get Paid by the Restaurants, Theaters, Bowling Alleys and Others to Place the Coupons in their Book to begin with. So they are getting profits from both ends too! Guess who is stuck making 20% - 30% and doing ALL the WORK! Not only selling, but delivery and that includes vehicles, gas and labor... YOU are footing their distribution bill... That's Right YOU and Your Group! Do the Math and You will see the Big
Picture!
______________________________________ So the Companies selling Merchandise are mostly trading on your name and selling junk nobody would buy if YOU were not selling it and the Intangible fundraiser companies who sell magazine subscriptions and coupons are getting their profits from both ends! WOW! No Wonder they Don't want to tell you the whole story! Again... it's Not Illegal to dupe well meaning folks into doing all the work and getting the short end of the stick, but it is unethical. There are laws, but they do not cover bad business arrangements you agree to. What can You do to protect yourself and Your Organizations good name while still making the Money you need to meet the annual budget for your projects? Surprisingly, there is a solution and it's not that difficult to figure out. First, you must look at the big picture. You must keep all of the above scams in mind and only pursue what you know to be a fair shake. Yes, a fundraising company has to make a profit too in order to stay afloat and serve your needs. There is a place for fundraising companies. Believe it or not there are a few good ones out there. But you must seek them out, because they have all the business they can handle. The question is how do you know which ones to select for your organization to do business with. Here are a couple of guidelines: 1. Look for a reputable Company. 2. Don't accept Anything Less than 50% Profit for YOUR ORGANIZATION! 3. Make sure you don't get wrapped up in a bunch of extra transportation, storage and labor such as delivery. 4. Make sure there are decent rewards for your kids or members. 5. Make sure that it is a win win situation for everybody. 6. Ask yourself what else can we tie in with this fundraiser that will be beneficial to your organization and the community. __________________________________________ As I said at the beginning of this report, I have researched this industry for at least 24 months. In that time I have found just a few worthwhile and reputable companies with which I would personally make a business arrangement for my Group or Organization. I will give you the Name(s), but I caution you... Even if you think what I am telling you is a great idea, don't go off and jump into a deal with the first company to offer you a similar fundraiser. There is a difference even among the
types of fundraisers. These differences are what has given the fundraiser
business
I hesitate to recommend any one particular company because, my purpose here is not to alienate the entire fundraiser industry. I will give you one word of advice before I proceed and that is simply this: "NEVER EVER EVER USE a Company that Operates ANY KIND of PHONE ROOM! They call them "Boiler Room Operations" for a reason! In this day and age they have computer auto dialers, predictive dialers and other assorted electronic goodies with which they will annoy the heck out of your community! Nobody likes marketing calls and no one likes to be high pressured into buying anything they don't really want no matter what the product. And these companys will do it while telling folks they are working for YOUR ORGANIZATION which translates into YOU are Annoying Your Fellow Citizens! Stay away from Phone Room Companies like the plague. Enough said. There are some companies that manage
to operate in a fair and open manner and divulge every bit of information
about the business arrangement to you up front and with
No matter what you decide to do for a fundraiser, you will have to do some work, but it doesn't have to be a full time job either. Your duties should be able to be accomplished in an hour or at the most two hours a day for the run of the promotion. In addition, choose a company that provides
a complete simple to understand manual that provides everything you need
Remember now... I have looked at all of them and I am sure the fundraising companies I have talked about above have perfectly reasonable sounding reasons for giving you little and taking the lions share of the profits, but you'll just keep the big picture in mind you won't get taken for a ride. The number one company that I can personally recommend to you is only available in the Midwest at this time because they have all they can handle right there in 5 states. Those being Kansas, Nebraska, Iowa, Missouri and Arkansas. Why just those states you asked... I did too, and after working with them I understand. They do the job right the first time and come back to the same organizations year after year. They are booked solid for a reason and that reason is that they deliver what they promise. Now when I tell you the name of this company and what they do you will want to call them. They are aware of this report and asked me to at least mention that if they are unavailable for your fundraiser this year to please book ahead and get on their schedule for the following year. They also tell me that they may have a date here and there available as they always try to leave a few dates open for a few new organizations to keep their business expanding yet under control. In addition, don't be skeptical as this is the greatest idea and most fun of all the fundraisers we have found. It actually works and works in a very big way. Once you are hooked up with these folks you will never let go. It is simply the strongest, fairest, most honest fundraiser plan I have ever seen. Their promotional material says they
have the
Not because they said so, and not because
they are paying me...
I know you are dying to find out what this great idea is... I will tell You, but again... Don't
just take the idea and run with it, because it is not just the idea. It
is THE COMPANY that makes the difference. Their integrity and their expertise.
There are other copy kats fundraisers out there that Do Not provide the
same caliber of service and experience. I will not list the bad ones, because
of legalities, but don't be fooled by others who have tried to jump on
the band wagon and cash in. They are not professionals they are just looking
for a fast buck and that IS the bottom line where this great fundraiser
plan is concerned. Remember, just because a guy owns a truck doesn't
mean he knows how to drive it or how to deliver your shipment safely and
on time. If you decide to go with the idea, make sure that whomever you
select is the real deal and not someone who just bought a truck last week
to cash in on what looks to be a good idea. It has taken this particular
company years to develop the systems and relationships to make it work
smoothly and no johnny come lately fundraiser wanna-be has the where with
all to pull it off, no matter what they tell you and tell you they will...
You don't believe me...
One particular Magician (and
I use that term loosely), located in Somewhereville, Kansas
has attempted to copy kat the Hamilton Magic Productions Systems and went
out and bought a bunch of

for over 25 years!
In fact he is a Convenience Store Clerk and has been for over 20+ years. That doesn't make him a bad person, it's just that He is Not a Real Professional Magician
Point of Fact is...

is what One Client of his
"We were extremely disappointed with (Name Deleted for Legal Purposes). I feel he misrepresented what would be included in his act... I was told that there would be an assortment of things including mentalism, magic and that he was an escape artist. He did magic and escaping. His tricks were not funny or entertaining and his talent was AWFUL. The kids did NOT find him entertaining and the only laughter was at how awful he was, not at his act. I think the picture used on his website must be 15-20 years old, because (Name Deleted for Legal Purposes) was much older than we expected. He came into the facility with a vest and no shirt on and his underwear hanging out the back of his pants! Our students were terribly unhappy and I wish someone had warned us before we spent the money to hire this act. I feel other groups should know the truth before they waste their money as we feel we did ours!" - Sandra L, 04/2006, Rolla, MO Here's another One about the Same Performer... While I think that (Name Deleted for Legal Purposes) does have some talent, he lacked showmanship. His performance was not very smooth, he was having difficulty with equipment. It ended up being more of a spoof. I would not recommend this performer. - Sharon S, 12/2006, Stuart, IA Is this the Guy for Your Group to Count On? Very Doubtful. _______________________________________________________ These of course are just two of many
Copy Kats
These types of Bottom Feeders exist
